MATH IN SPORTS
Sports show symmetry when the opposite playing teams are equal in number, even the playing area follows the law of symmetry. There is use of statistics to calculate the ranking of a player and other operations to calculate score.
OUR RESEARCH
We have researched on math in sports-
- Chess
- Volleyball
- Archery

INTERVIEWS
Interaction
We shared our views with the students of PiuX college.
CONCLUSION
We did research on the relationship of math and found the probability of darts hitting the different rings using mathematical formulae.
A volley ball match was organised and we observed the mathematical concepts involved in the game. The mathematical concepts observed were
(1) Use of probability in volleyball to determine which team will get the next point or which team will win the match
(2)Use of Pythagorean Theorem to calculate the serve of volleyball
(3)Use of quadratic polynomials in volleyball to observe the path followed by a volleyball is in the shape of a parabola.
We also researched on the nature of geometric growth, in finding the number of squares on a chess board.

COMPARISON
In our presentation we have chosen three sports while PiuX COLLEGE 2nd group has chosen has only game of pool. We have elaborated our work with the help of a video and expressed our research with the help of a PPT and they have only demonstrated their work by some pictures.
Weert college has researched on the draws for the Olympic games made in tennis and basketball. This was a completely new approach to math in sports.

REFLECTION
The study has helped us understand that it is important to learn or teach correct technique with emphasis on greater degree of accuracy corrector of mathematical basis to make good sports persons. It was indeed an altogether a different to combine physical education and mathematics.
