INTRODUCTION Mathematics is the never-ending story of study. Mathematics can be crazy or cruel, easy or hard, excruciating or exhilarating.
Mathematics is the science that deals with the logic of shape, quantity and arrangement. Math is all around us. It is the building block for everything in our daily lives, be it architecture, art, engineering or even sports.
Mathematics on the Indian subcontinent has a rich history and thrived for centuries. Not only Indian mathematicians have given the concept of zero, but also they've made seminal contributions to the study of trigonometry, algebra, arithmetic and negative numbers and among other areas.
We, the students of Bal Bharati Public School, Rohini would like to bring out the hidden explorers in us, while we'd seek to learn about math in every walk of life. We will interact with people and will make them aware of the fact that math can really turn out to be 'interesting'. We've been divided into five groups, wherein we have math in sports, fine art, architecture, kitchen and Vedas.
From the number of players required to the calculation of scores, math plays a crucial role in sports. There is a large amount of math involved in art, not to mention basic things like measuring and lines, but the intricacies of art can often be described using math. Symmetrical monuments seem to be very pleasing, for a fact, understanding symmetry isn't possible without the understanding of math. Even though, math in kitchen gets unnoticed, it is being used in meal planning, baking, grocery shopping, measuring ingredients and what not. Just as we found math everywhere, we find the root of mathematics in the Vedas, a lot of mathematical concepts have been mentioned there.
